Accessibility Statement

First US Floors is committed to making our website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We've designed and built this site with accessibility in mind from the start.

Our standard

We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA — the current widely-recognized accessibility standard. This includes meeting requirements for color contrast, keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, focus indicators, and consistent navigation.

What we've done

Among other things:

  • Primary interactive elements (buttons, form fields, icon buttons) are at least 48×48 pixels for easy tapping on mobile.
  • Color contrast meets or exceeds the 4.5:1 ratio for body text and 3:1 for large text.
  • The site is fully keyboard-navigable, and we aim for visible focus indicators on every interactive element.
  • A "Skip to main content" link appears as the first focusable element on every page.
  • The sticky bottom bar on mobile uses scroll padding so focused elements don't get hidden behind it.
  • Forms have associated labels and clear error messages.
  • Images have descriptive alternative text.
  • The site respects the prefers-reduced-motion setting — if you've configured your device to reduce motion, our animations turn off.
  • We aim for one h1 per page and a logical heading hierarchy.

What we don't do

We don't use accessibility overlay widgets. The Federal Trade Commission has taken enforcement action against overlay providers for false WCAG-compliance claims, and accessibility experts increasingly view overlays as a workaround that can make sites less usable. Our approach is to build accessibility into the site itself.
